If you can't stand the heat, get out of Phoenix!

Temperatures now seem to be consistently in the high 90s and low 100s. Our days in the desert are numbered. We have been lazily adapting to a post move life and are constantly trying to get 7 pounds in a 5 pound sack. Our space is limited. New batteries for the motorhome are the order of the day as we expect to do some boondocking this summer and a shortage of power is not a good thing. We are enjoying ourselves and deciding where and when to go. We will go to an Escapees RV Club Escapade in Gillette, Wyoming in late June and early July. The Escapees are a group that espouses living in a motorhome and going where the road and their will takes them. We are technically not "full timers" since we intend to return to the desert for the winters and will be more like "half timers". This summer will probably find us prowling the Rockies and hopefully some good spots to flyfish. Our community here in Gold Canyon is becoming a virtual ghost town. A few folks spend the summer here but most of the snow birds have flown away to their summer homes. There are still a few cars in driveways but that is misleading as most are left here year round. It is quiet here and we are enjoying the serenity and the wonderful explosions of blooms. The cacti are gorgeous, hard to believe such stark, hostile plants can have such beautiful flowers. Time for my afternoon siesta....
