How quickly we forget! We're back in the Pacific Northwest and it rains! We had a constant slow drizzle last night and this morning awoke to fog. We had a pleasant drive, however, and still saw magnificent views along the Oregon Coast. US-101 is an OK drive but it is narrow, winds like a snake and goes up and down so we were constantly trying to get over to let faster, more daring vehicles go by. There are numerous pullouts but most seemed to be on the wrong side of the road and just before a curve with extremely limited sight distance. Most photo ops just didn't happen, either because someone else was already parked where we needed to be or that we decided the picture wasn't worth having an accident. We did enjoy the rocks, cliffs, light houses, beaches, etc. Tonight we are in Newport at an Oregon State Park called South Beach. It is right on the ocean but our parking spot is about one half mile from the water. We did have a great walk on the beach this evening.
After finding a camping spot we drove into Newport to find food. We stopped at a seafood place and bought razor clams, clam chowder and dungeness crab and brought it back to our camping site. It was great! Tomorrow we will go through Tillamook and want to tour the cheese factory there. Tillamook cheddar is one of our favorites.
After experiencing suffocating heat for several days we are now experiencing temperatures below 60 F., quite a change. We will be in Washington in a day or so and expect similar weather there. We have gotten out the long sleeves and long pants !
Wii Play!
We have our Wii with us and it provides amusement and exercise of sorts with the Wii Fit. Our coach is crowded but we are managing. We hope we will see some benefit by the end of the summer.

Don and Anne---I remember our trip down the Oregon coast and on into LA. We hurried along at about 100 mi per day--on a long day. We vistied all the light houses on the way. When calling a friend near San Francisco and giving him as estimate when we would get there for a visit, he asked if we were traveling by covered wagon based on our pace. Good times. Anemarie and Ted
