Big Horn Mountains

Today we are in Buffalo, Wyoming. The landscape has changed and we have come closer to the mountains. The snow capped peaks west of us are the Big Horns, we will get closer when we go to Yellowstone in July. We drove several miles into the mountains this afternoon and saw beautiful wild flowers, deer, moose and pronghorn antelope in addition to some very old rocks. Road signs announced that rocks by the road were Pre-Cambrian, or only 3 billion years old!
We are in a very nice campground today with level gravel sites, grass, huge cottonwood trees (cotton everywhere!) and one of the best we have been in. Don tried to stream fish at the back of the camp but the four foot wide stream was full of run off, heavily treed and there was no way to present a fly even if there were fish there. Fishing will have to wait for Yellowstone.
We have had a great trip through Colorado. We had several days at Estes Park and loved it there. Saw several cottages by rivers that looked like a great place to spend the summer. We then went to Fort Collins and visited cousins of Don and had a really great time.
We have seen countless antelope in our drive across Wyoming as well as several deer. They are fun to watch.
Tomorrow we head east to Gillette where we will attend an Escapees Escapade, a get together of RVers who live in their motor homes. We hope to make some new friends and learn more about the ins and outs and roundabouts of living on the road.
